I hated 2008 when I got it. It took me 2 hrs to insert a name and birth date; but my ten year old computer died and I got a new Vista system; which wouldn't read my 2006. I now have the new 2009 ancestry which is suppose to have removed some of the bugs and problems that 2008 had, I haven't noticed any improvements but then I have had it only a few days. It is wonderful to download data. You just merge. It gives you a choice as prefered or alternate data acceptance. This bothered me at first; but ancestry said to merge the data even if it differed from yours and then try to prove which was best. The documentation comes with the download and you can descide which is best. ie. My Shaw line often often lists my Charles as son of John Shaw; but records on the Beall line, says that Charles Shaw son of William, Married Keziah Beall. William is listed as son of John. I have no idea which is correct, so I list it both ways, with a note to my reasoning an questions. Some dat proof may be found, that will be decisive or proof both ideas wrong.
Ancestry is still updating its program and I can't Check my data. This has been going on for a week, I hope they finish soon.
