Fire of Wareham
Posted by: Mark Wareham Date: November 27, 2000 at 13:22:56

I have been told that there was a large fire in Wareham in the early 18th Century and alot of children were made orphans. These orphans were relocated around homes in Dorset and the children were often given the Wareham surname. This may be why I am finding hard to trace my family tree much before 1700.
Does anyone know any more details about this fire and subsequent events?
