Hello and thank you for responding to my post. Just from the reseach that I have done, I found out that Caroline Perkin's parents were William Perkins and Mary Olive Sweat. William was born act 1787 in South Carolina and died about 1838 in Rapides Parish, Louisiana. Mary Olive Sweat was born about 1799 in South Carolina. I don't know when or where she died. They were married in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana on August 1, 1818.
Here is a compiled list of the children for William and Mary:
Caroline b: 1829 LA
Jinny b: 1838 LA
Matilda b: 1840 LA
Alfred b: 1845 LA
Mary b: 1847 LA
There is a big gap between Caroline and Jinny. I always thought that there were a few children that were born between them. Your Wiley M Perkins would definitely fit. Are you positive about the location he was born? Keeping the marriage date in mind, it is very possible that there were children born before Caroline too. I checked my family tree and did not see any Hightowers or Mildred Ware yet.
Don't worry, there is still hope! Do you know anything about Mildred Ware? Maybe her parents or where she was from? She could be a niece to James Ware. Very possible. Besides Caroline, do you know of any other Perkins in your family that came to Louisiana? I would like to help you out in anyway I can. Please feel free to contact me anytime : email@example.com
