Hi All
The following suggest that this line of Ware's were of saxon origin.
Domesday Bk. p. 66 & 67
Prior to the conquest of 1066, Anschil de Wares, seat was at Ware where he owned a large Manor that was passed on to
Ralph de Taillebos, who later traded same to
Hugh de Grentmesnil, survey 1086.
Aschil de Wares & Aluric Blac, at this time had three vassels, and lands in Salcombe (north of Ware), and
Willingtone.
