(No relation) From the Topeka State Journal, June 7, 1938, page 2: Mrs. Alene Stratemeyer, 2230 Ohio, died Monday night in a local hospital. She was born in Geary county near Junction City and had been a resident of Topeka for four years. She was a member of Ellsworth chapter No. 44, Order of the Eastern Star; auxilliary Capitol post No. 1 of the American Legion; president of the Young Matrons club of the YWCA; also served on the board of directors of the YWCA. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Stratemeyer is survived by her husband, Lewis Stratemeyer, of the home; her mother, Mrs. E. L. Ware, of Junction City; four sisters, Miss Marion Ware, also of Junction City; Mrs. W. A. Birch, Emporia; Mrs. C. F. Short, of Columbia, Mo.; and Mrs. D. F. Ewald, Kansas City, Mo., and one brother, Lane Ware, of Junction City. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Wall-Diffenderfer mortuary, burial will be in the Junction City cemetery. Notify Administrator about this message?
