Hi Jo / Christine,
I've got your Francis Wardman and Mary Carr on my family tree. I think Francis was 11th out of a family of 12.I'm related to Robert 6th child of Samuel Wardman and Elizabeth Benson. (eldest of their children was Ann bap.1746 through to John bap.1770)
Samuel was baptised 28 June 1719 and was son of George who was baptised 1 June 1683.
George was son of Miles and Anne Stubbs (see IGA where you can get Anne Stubbs ancestors)
The 1851 census for Hartwith and Winsley shows a Jonathan Wardman aged 50, born Killinghall, farmer of 107 acres with wife 2 sons and a daughter living at 1 Winsley.Living close by is William Wardman aged 52 born Killinghall, farmer of 82 acres (an elder brother?)
It would be useful if we could trace wills for Samuel George and Miles.
