Hi Lorraine, sorry about the late reply but I haven't logged in for nearly 10 years and my email address has changed, so I didn't get a notification of your post.
Our Wardle line lived around Benalla in Victoria. John Mountney Wardle (b1822, son of John Mountney and Hannah) married Mary Elizabeth Staunton and lived at Warrenbayne Vic (John lived to the ripe old age of 90 and died in 1912; my grandfather once told me he used to crawl under his grandfather's bed when a small boy looking for lollies). Their daughter Bridget married my great grandfather Maurice Kelleher from Goomalibee Vic. From what my mother tells me the Warrenbayne Wardles owned a horse breeding business and were very wealthy. They apparently supplied the British Army in India with horses (found that in a book, must find the reference). Unfortunately any money Bridget inherited from John was dissipated by Maurice Kelleher who didn't really make a go of the farm, so none made its way down to my generation. Hope this gives a bit of info on our side, can do a ged file of the descendents if you want it.
