Thanks for your post. It is the same Ipstones. It has been in both Staffordshire and Derbyshire at various times in the past. I think it is now in Staffordshire.
I am familiar with most of the Wardles you mention. Most of them are buried in the local churchyard. The problem is that there seem to be two branches of the Wardles in the village - and I think we may belong to different ones. I'm pretty sure that going back it is the same family though so we are probably connected at some point. I'm afraid I haven't come across any of the names you mention. I have only traced my Wardle connections back as far as John and Ann Wardle, my great great grandparents who died in the 1870s at Ipstones. It would be great to find where the two branches join so if you have any ideas, do let me know.
