Hello Arthur,
I have had a look at my Family Tree Wardle inclusions and can't find any mention of your Henry. My listings are far from complete and there appears to have been many branches. So I would be interested to know which branch is yours and the date of Henry's birth and his parents.
The book, which I found via the web, is called The Wardle Story, by Anne Jacques - Sir Thomas and Lady Wardle, A Victorian Enterprise. It is published by Churnet Valley Books, Leek.
I have a Joseph Wardle b.1777 married Martha Earls b.1773 and they had a son Joshua 1802 who married a Mary Darlington.Their eldest son Thomas b.1831 married Elizabeth Wardle, dau. of Hugh and Thomasina Wardle.
This marriage produced 14 children, one, Bernard b.1865 is my connection......He had a brother Arthur Henry b.1864, he died 1916 in Cheddleton, but that's the only mention of a Henry.
Cheers,
Robyn
