...That's a tough one.
I wonder if it isn't one of the Elijah's, but we've seen no proof, yet.
We're pretty sure, at least guessing, that the Elijah who moved to Illinois (as did Robert, for a time) was his brother. I've yet to access any IL deeds to see if Robert shows up (and, if so, whether it shows any true connection to his reputed "brother").
Anyway, just plain guesswork, it seems there's an elder Elijah in Surry Co. and that this gang might be connected. Also, there seems to be a connection between Robert and a Michael, as I recall (my notes aren't in front of me).
If we can't prove Robert's father, maybe we can link to these brothers. If so, and we can prove THEIR father, well then...it's probably the same dad.
