Probably they are all from a family group who are all or largely tailors - certainly several of the more recent Peter's sons went to Liverpool in 1840s as tailors (but one became a farmer, and they all may have farmed part-time) - then changed to tobacconists. If you go far enough back there is a Sir Peter W of Tilston (early 17C who leaves a will (its on Cheshire Wills) and was I think important nationally. So there is the potential for quite a diaspora of Warburtons in that area. Peter who married Mary Yardley had several children but none Thomas, his parents were possibly James W and Elizabeth Roberts (and he had a brother John who married Mary Roberts who was very likely her sister). Joan Ross gave me this information. However neither of the brothers had a Thomas, although both had Samuels. You might be correct in view of the tailoring that Samuel is son of George of Shocklach (+30.10.1701) and his wife = 30.5.26) Elizabeth ... Bedward or Edward? - because the birth date you give for Samuel (15.1/1743/44) is very close to the one I have (11.5.1744). Shocklach (as it now is) is only 2 miles from Tilston. I dont know how we could decide which is which - but the tailoring is a good hint - you have this from the PRs? I dont see the marriage on IGI - you have it from another source? None of Tilston wills - which are rather early are for tailors. email me if you wish ktinkler at cogeco.ca Keith Notify Administrator about this message?
