Is anyone aware of such a project? I have looked at all the likely sites and cannot find one, so I was thinking of starting one myself.
Some surname projects where the name is derived from a place or area have found there is a single ancestor (eg Sykes as descrided in 'Adam's Curse' by Brian Sykes), others have multiple origins
