The John C. Wann you mention as born in 1839 appears to be a Civil War veteran form your note. That John C. Wann may be remotely - but not too closely related to my Wann connection (or yours). The John Wann I mentioned as dying in 1819 in Maryland was a Revolutionary War (1775-1783) veteran of Pennsylvania origin. The John Wann whom I mentioned was old enough to be a very oldgrandfather, more likely at closest a great-grandfather of your Clarion, PA born, Illinois -Missouri Civil War veteran.I note that Cape Girardeau (place of discharge of Civil War vet)is in MO, Rush Limbaugh's home town.Thank you for your interest, but I am NOT the proper person to whom to send your National Archive records.I feel certain such a person may soon come along.Again, thank you for your kind thoughts.
