Hello Deanne, You asked when the Wangens came to the U.S., The first Wangen to emigrate from the Nordre Wangen farm in Nordre Fron, Oppland was Jacob Jacobsen Wangen and he emigrated about 1873 to Eau Claire, Wisc. Next was his brother Iver Jacobsen Wangen in 1878. Then their brother Syver Jacobsen Wangen also in 1878. First cousins Jacob Knutsen Wangen, Ivar Knutsen Wangen and Mathias Knutsen Wangen all emigrated later.
