ABRAHAM WAMPOLE FATHER WAS PHILIP WAMPOLE KILLED IN A POWDERMILL EXPLOSION ABT. 1852 IN ZIEGLERSVILLE MONTGOMERY CO. PA. PHILIP WAMPOLE FATHER WAS ABRAHAM WAMPOLE BORN OCTOBER 29,1788 AND WAS KILLED IN A POWDERMILL EXPLOSION IN 1847 AT SUMMNEYTOWN MONTGOMERY CO. PA. HIS FATHER WAS JACOB WAMPOLE BORN IN 10/2/1764 AND DIED 4/24/1818, JACOB WAMPOLE FATHER WAS FREDRICK WAMPOLE/WAMBOLD BORN FEBUARY 15,1717 IN WETTERAU IN OBERHESSEN, GERMANY. FREDRICK WAMPOLE CAME TO THIS COUNTRY IN 1743 WITH HIS BROTHER HENRY WAMBOLD. FREDRICK WAMBOLD PURCHASED 150 ACRES FROM ABRAHAM LUKENS IN TOWAMENSING TOOWNSHIP, JUST EAST OF CHRIST CHURCH, WHICH WAS BUILT ON PART OF THE SAME LAND. AND ABOUT 2 MILES NORTH OF KULPSVILLE MONTGOMERY COUNTY PA.
GEORGE WASHINGTON STAYED AT FREDRICK WAMPOLES HOME FROM OCTOBER 9 TO OCTOBER 15, 1777 HE USED IT AS HEADQUARTERS.


ABRAHAM WAMPOLE BORN IN 1834,SERVED IN THE 51ST PA. REGIMENT CO. I DURING THE CIVIL WAR, HE WAS LISTED AS BEING 5 FOOT 3 INCHES, DARK EYES, DARK HAIR, DARK COMPLEXION,HIS OCCUPATION BEFORE THE WAR WAS POWDER MANUFACTURER, BEFORE BEING KILLED AT SPOTSYLVANIA COURTHOUSE MAY 12, 1864 HE WAS WOUNDED SLIGHTLY ON THE CHIN ON APRIL 19,1862 AT CAMDEN , NORTH CAROLINA. ONE DOCUMENT WE HAVE WAS A SWORN STATEMENT FROM FREDRICK HOBBINE AND JOHN HURD THAT WERE IN THE 51ST REG. COMPANY I,THEY SAID THEY KNEW FROM PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE THAT ABRAHAM WAMPOLE WAS ENGAGED IN THE BATTLE OF SPOTSYLVANIA COURTHOUSE ON THE 12 TH DAY OF MAY 1864 AND THAT HE FELL HEAVILY WOUNDED, AND THAT THEY VERTIFY BELEIVE THAT HE DIED THERE. THE GROUND WERE HE FELL WAS OCCUPIED BY THE ENEMY IMMEDIATELY AFTER, AND A LARGE NUMBER OF THE KILLED WERE BURIED BY THE ENEMY WITHOUT ANY NOTICE OR ACCOUNT BEING TAKEN OF THEIR NAMES OR THE COMPANIES OR TO THE REGIMENTS THEY BELONGED.

PHILIP WAMPOLE AND MARIA SHULER WERE ABRAHAM WAMPOLES PARENTS THEIR CHILDREN WERE.
