I am sorry this is so late. Horace Wamble was the son of John Edward Wamble and Maggie Mayes. John Edward Wamble was the son of James Alexander Wamble.
John Edward drowned in the "drowning slew" as the family ever after called it, on a backwash from the Tombigbee River and the Matubby Creek in Monroe County, MS. That is why Horace was reared by the Mayes family.
And yes, he is the same Horace Wamble who died in Memphis, Shelby County, TN.
He was a traveling salesman for the Fitch Hair Tonic Co. He always had a "pretty woman on his arm." This last was from my mother-in-law who had marvelous tales to tell about various family members. She was a Wamble descendant, and her husband was a Mayes descendant.
