I am researching in the Nagold area with particular attention to Hochdorf, just a few miles south of Nagold. I read the German church books on microfilm and have 11 Walz who left Hochdorf for America. In 1751 the following left: Hans Jacob Walz, b 1706, and his wife Maria Katz, b 1712. Their children that came with them were Rosina, b 1745 and Georg, b 1748. Hans Jacob is on the ship list of arriving in Philadelphia in 1751. Many from Hochdorf settled across the river in Penn's Neck area of Gloucester Co., NJ. I have not found these Walzes yet.
About 1764 Catharina Walz, b 1719 and her husband Jacob, b 1714 left for America. They had children: Catharina, b 1743; Georg, b 1745, Cunrad, b 1749, Martha, b 1752, Martin, b 1757, and Jacob, b 1761. There were 71 Hochdorfers who came in the Seventeenth Century. Since 1990, I have been working on a manuscript regarding my immigrant ancestor Michael Katz, b 1721. Everything I can find out about these immigrant Hochdorfers is in it. I am just about to call it quits on this group as I am now in the 1800's. There are over 300 who came from Hochdorf in this century. Over 50 were Walz, but I have just gotten through the "K" families in rough draft. Cary
