Hello Michael:

This is really strange. Just today I learned your name from an obit of Asbury L. Waltz, Jr. My name is Robert C. Maguire of Charleston. My mother is a Veronee and I recently started doing research on that side of the family. I'll try to explain our connection.

My grandfather Julian F. Veronee had 7 sons and 2 daughters. My mother was one of the daughters. Grandfather had a sister Beatrice and a brother Cornelius Veronee. Grandfather's brother and his wife Margret married and had two sons Robert C. Veronee, Charles Veronee and one daughter Ermine. Ermine married you wife Marlene's grandfather Asbury L. Waltz, Sr. I have not found out yet when Ermine died or if she is still alive. Her two brothers died not too long ago. Her brother Robert C. Veronee died in 1997 and was the fire chief for the St. Andrews Fire Department near where I live.

A friend I have in Maryland contacted me this morning and asked me to check the obits at the Post & Courier for an obit for Asbury L. Waltz, Jr. who died Sept. 22, 2002. She had a Veronee descendant who said Mr. Waltz was her grandfather. I don't know her name but I can ask my friend in Maryland. This person must be someone know by your family.
