Hello Cousin Carolyn!

I don't think I've talked to you before. I don't know anything about Frederick Reinhart Waltz's syblings but his son on my line is John Reinhart Waltz who came over from Switzerland in 1744. John Reinhart Waltz's sons included another Frederick, Peter, Michael, and Samuel (this is just from my memory). This Frederick Waltz is also my Great-Great-Great-Great Grandfather! He would be our connection. If our Fredericks are both the same then we have 2 relatives who served in the Revolutionary War, Peter and Michael Waltz.

Peter has a very interesting story about his war experiences. Both Michael and Peter left Ohio to join up for the war in Massachusetts. Peter's wife was pregnant and she told him she would not let him back in the family when he came back if he went to war. He left anyway. He came back after 5 years and true to her word she would not have him back or let hime see his son. Peter was very forlorn and left to settle in another part of Ohio and remarried. After a while, maybe 15-20 years, he hears of another Waltz settling in the area and he goes over to see if he needs any help. He meets the new Waltz and after talking to him he realizes very quickly that he is his son whom his wife would not let him see before. The story gets even better. He again at a later time hears about another Waltz settling in the area and again goes over to see if he can help him. This is his long lost brother, Michael, whom he also hadn't seen in 20 years. Michael had stayed in the colonial army for another 2 years and that's when he had lost track of him. Isn't that a great story!

If you want to e-mail me here is my address: If you are my cousin then you are also a cousin to the other lady under my listing. She can trace her lineage through Peter Waltz, the Revolutionary War Veteran and to John Reinhart Waltz and to Frederick Reinhart Waltz.

This is great, I've found two Waltz cousins! There is also a Waltz Genealogy book that was written in about 1884. That's where I got this information from. We also are related to about 34 Civil War Veterans 10 of which were killed or died of disease. I had 2 Great-Great Uncles, Henry and Jacob Waltz who were in the war and 3 Zangelein brothers alsot, 1s cousins to Henry and Jacob. All of them survived the war.

So long cousin!

Cousin Dan
