I am decended from Thomas Walsh and Elizabeth Bollinger throught their son James.I have only a little information on me at the present but here is what I have:
Thomas (March 12, 1786 - April 21 1857) married Elizabeth (Jan. 14, 1798 - Oct. 23, 1849) on March 6, 1827.He is the son of James Walsh (June 10, 1753 or 1755 - Nov. 12, 1847) and Ruth ??? (Oct. 7, 1759 - Aug. 28, 1818)Ther were married Aug. 15, 1783.It is said that James and Ruth came to America around 1803.Reportedly James' father 's name was Josiah, and his grandfather was Andrew - who took the family from Dublin, Ireland to Wales and that is were James was born.James and Ruth had 10 children of which Thomas was second.I can provide more on them if you are intested.
Of Thomas and Elizabeth I have the following:
A granddaughter stated in 1948 that Elizabeth was born in Holland and came to America as a child who lived in Richland and Guernsey Counties in Ohio after coming up the James River in Virginia. The cemetery she is buried in is at Bellville, Ohio and was reported to be very pretty.A family member reported to have visited to site in 1943 and said the headstone was in fine preservation. After Elizabeth's death, Thomas moved west and suffered a stroke in 1857 which resulted in his death. He is buried in the Shinn Town Cemetery a few miles north of Farmington, IL (actual cemetery site is 3 miles north & 1 mile east of Middle Grove, IL)
Their Children are:
James Bollinger (Dec. 16, 1827 - Oct. 23, 1903) married Catherine Long (I'll have to get those papers for her dates) on May 23, 1847.
Mary Ann Walsh (1829 - ???) married Nathan Fidddler (no dates) on May 11, 1847.
Mathias Bollinger Walsh (sept. 8, 1831 - Feb. 8, 1909) married Sarah Long (I'll get those dates - also sister of above mentioned Catherine) on June 4, 1851.
Edia Walsh (1833 - ???) married Cain White but I have no dates for either him or their marriage.
John Bollinger Walsh (Nov. 5, 1835 - Sept. 3, 1913) married Elizabeth Conklin (no dates) on Feb. 24, 1866.
I hope that helps.I have a bit more but I'll have to gather it all together, if you want it.Let me know.
