I'll be glad to share with you the information that I have been able to located over the years.
Lemuel M. Parker (23) lived in Cobb County (Powder Springs) beginning in 1850. Prior to this I have not been able to locate this family. He was living with his wife, Rachel (29) and their daughter, Sarah Catherine (1). Also residing with him were (assuming) his 2 sisters Lydia A. (18) & Harriet S. (12) (m. Castle P. Wigley) and his brother Henry Russell (14) (m. Nancy E. Rollins). All born in SC.
by 1860 they had moved to Paulding County where he is until his death. Lemuel & Rachel had the following children:
Sarah Catherine b. abt 1849 m. Joseph C. Elsberry
Mary Eliza b. abt 1851 m. ??
Joseph b. abt 1852 m. Mary A. Stansel
Amanda Barberry b. abt 1853 m. James Whitfield (later divorced)
William b. abt 1856 m. Nancy J. Wheeler
Laura b. abt 1858 m. ??
Henry T. b. 1859 m. Martha J. Owen
James Perly b. 1861 m. Martha A. Owen
John Ezra b. 1863 m. Sarah Jane Arnold
Malachi b. abt 1866 (died young)
I have been searching for information on Lemuel's brother and sisters to see if I could break the wall as to who their parents were, but have not had much luck. When looking through the 1870 Paulding County Census, I happened to see this Lydia Walraven, which just happened to be the right age and born in SC. Made me start wondering if it could be?? Of course, once again, it appears that she died prior to there being any offical documentation of the death, so it looks like I will continue to be at a dead end.
I realized in searching further census records that one indicates Lydia "N", but I have seen so many descrepancies in the past, I decided not to disallow the idea immediately.
This is a very high level of the Parker's that I have researched. I actually descend from 2 of Lemuel's brothers, Henry & John. Henry's son Reuben, married John's daughter Ella Estelle.
If you have any desire for additional information, please let me know. Thanks so much for your time.
