Bernice,
There was another Walpole/James marriage in Rutherford Co. William Event Walpole md Rebecca S. James Dec. 02 1823. I found an entry in a book on Missouri that William must have died shortly after 1830 and Rebecca married Edward Lewis of Montgomery Co. Missouri. I am not sure who Rebecca James' parents were but she and William were probably cousins.
