I received the following information from Michael Voves. This is the Mathias Wallrich that ended up in Osceola County, Iowa with many of his children. "There is a multi-volume index on German immigrants called "Germans to America". You should be able to find it in your state historical library. Volume 9, p. 270, contains an entry for Mathias Wallerich, who emigrated with his wife Angelina and his children (Nicholas, Margaret, Franz, Marie, Elisabeth and August) to the U.S in 1855. They arrived in New York on June 7, 1855 via the ship "Switzerland" from Le Havre. The province of origin says Luxembourg, although I'm not certain if that is where they resided. Mathias Wallerich farmed for a while in Brighton, but I know he eventually moved to Iowa. I have some notes indicating that he died in Ashton, Osceola Cty, Iowa on March 24, 1893. One of his daughters, Margeret Wallerich, stayed in Brighton and married a Theodor Friedrich (name changed to Frederick), who is my gg grandfather."
