I am interested in your post. I have been looking for a Thomas Chandler Woolley b early 1800's? I noticed you had a Hiram Chandler Wallis (Woolley is a soundex name). Hiram is also supposed to be a family name. This is my mother's paternal side.
On Mom's maternal side I have a Sarah Foster b 1835 of whom I don't know anything other than she is my gg-grandmother and was the 2nd wife of a Sherman. I have their descendants but not their ancestors. They were said to have gone from OH to MO. However the records show Sherman buried in OH.
I know these families intermarried quite often.
Do you know if your Thomas remarried to a Dorsey?
Other Woolley's I am researching are George H. twin, Job Morrow Woolley twin,Wm Burress, Ella Elizabeth, Debra Hester, Albert Newton, Hannah Alvaretta. Do you have any Wallis' by these names? They could be listing as a soundex....
