I'm looking for information on a family that lived in Gilmer, GA in 1847...no given names or birth/death dates on the parents but wifes maiden name is thought to be Crow. Son born on Feb 3rd is John--there were siblings named Jim, Bettie and Rhoda, no idea of their birth dates or if they were alive in '47...the father was said to be a Baptist misister..John is my g-g-g grandfather...I'm new to genealogy and have found a block on him b4 the 1870 Census..I found the Gilmer connection from his Civil War Pension application....any help will be appreciated.

John's military records have his name as Jonathan Wallace, Jonathan Wallis, John Wallace, John Wallis

He married Sarah (Sallie) Hopkins in 1869 Franklin, TN and they ended up in Bluff Springs TX where they raised 6 kids. Both are buried in the old Boggy Creek-Masonic Cemetery.
