Sybil,

My apoligies for getting your hopes up. Would not bother you with this, but your being the ONLY family historian with a Caldwell County, KY 'WALLING' makes you the current and only available expert on same.

Am trying to get my Stevens and allied families of that county sorted out from the rest of the same names. One of my ancestors relatives, I believe to be:

William Stevens who married Rachel WALLING on 17 Dec 1827 in Caldwell Co., KY. The 1850 census of this county shows everyone in his home (665/665) to have been born in Caldwell Co., Ky.:

William Stevens, age 44, m, Farmer, $250
Rache, 40
Joseph E., 19 (b. c.1831)
James, 17
Nancy H, 15
Francis, 13, f
Matilda, 9
Angeron, 7, m
Zerilda, 4
Lurany, 1 f

As can be seen, there could have been a child born BEFORE 19 year old Joseph. If so, would like child's name, who he/she married, and dates pertaining to this child.

Do you have anything in your files regarding this matter?

Also have a STEVENS - McDOWELL in my records, if per chance you are working in that direction.

My direct lines that resided in that part Of Kentucky: SHIRLEY, COOKE, STEVENS, LEECH. Some of the allied lines in that area were Nesbit, Ramsey, Blackburn, Cook(e), Sigler, Jenkins, Campbell, Fowler (Fuller?).

Am most appreciative of any help you can offer. And will share anything in my files that could assist you in your search.

Jo Rheta
