Hi Jeff,
I did get some more information, but have to mention that I have not had time to verify it.However, it is supported by several other researchers.
I will pass this along to you in hopes that if there is a connection, it may help make the tie:
The Thomas Walling that I have would be
Thomas R Walling
b Nov 17, 1797, Pittsburg, PA,
m Apr 1, 1834, Ross Co, OH
d Feb 2, 1869, Mexico, Miami Co, IN - received cc of his will to support this.
Married to:
Susannah Cryder (spelled Cryder in will, but my family history spelled it Crider)
b May 18, 1814, Ross Co, Green twp, OH
d Nov 25, 1854, Mexico, Miami Co, IN
children of this union were:
Jacob Cryder Walling, who was killed in 1862, Civil War
James Stull Walling who m Tabitha or Talitha Richardson, dau of Tazwell Richardson, who had hailed from VA
Rebecca Jane Walling, who m Reilly Richardson, brother to Tabitha above.
There is much documentation on the Richardson's from VA, who then moved to IN, and later to NE where they homesteaded. While in IN, Tazwell operated a still, as one of the first businesses in the area, and this is documented in a history book on the area.
Same source shows Thomas R Walling's parents to be:
James S Walling (no dates yet)
and
Mary Margaret Gregg
Does this help at all in tying into the lines you are familiar with?
The other researcher that I couldn't contact was searching for both Thomas Walling, and Susannah Cryder, and searching the Bryant line...this is what has led me to believe this line may tie into your line.
Thank you for your time.
Melanie
