Hello Lydia Ann,
I belive that I am set straight with John Walling's wife Hope maiden name!I was confused by the matter that their were two (2) John Wallings born within the same period of time, and both of these Wallings married women named "Hope".
John (son of Thomas & Sarah (Elwell) married Hope (dau. of Nathaniel & Mary (Unk) Bowdish).
John (son of James & Unk (maybe Eliz. Nox?)married Hope (dau.of Unk.) both Johns are grandsons of Thomas & Mary (Abbott) Walling.
I received an e-mail stating that there is a handwritten parchment record of John & Hope marriage & a list of chldren born to them in the Glocester, RI Town Hall.
John & Hope married on July 19, 1730
Children:
1). Isaac - b. May 8, 1731
2). Jacob - b. June 12, 1732
3). John Jr. - b. September 15, 1733
4). Rebecca - b. June 12, 1735
5). Phebe - b. September 15, 1736
6). Mary - b. October 8, 1740
7.) Joshua - b. July 5, 1746
Take care,
Ken Walling
