Can someone tell me more about this record . . .who was Lucy Wallin? What tresspass did she committ? Why would John Honey help her?

Claiborne Co.,TN Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions
Minutes 1826-1829 (film 464085)
Book 71, pgs. 17, 20, 21,49, 58
First entries - the jury could not agree on verdict and needed a deposition from a Robert Beaty.
Jury consisted of: John Whiteaker, Edmond Bray, John Wallin, John Condray, Andrew Davis, Wm. Bullard, Daniel Shumate, Wm. Littrell, Jonah Moors, Joseph Neil, Andrew Phillips, Wm. Kincaid.
pg. 49 - Tuesday 19th, December 1826
Lucy Wallin vs Wm. Beatty/John Lea/Daniel Huff
(Charge of Tresspass)
This day came Elisha Wallin into Open Court and surrendered the plaintiff. He decharged himself as to her bail and thereupon came into open court, John Honey and took upon himself that in case the plaintiff, Lucy Wallin, should be charged in this action and she shall pay cost or surrender herself in presense in execution for the same, the said John Honey will pay it for her.

pg. 58 - the Jury decided the defendant was guilty of tresspass as charged. $27.50 charged by the court to be paid as well as court costs.

My area of interest is John Honey, Rev. War Vet from Caroline Co., VA - lived Claiborne Co. area 1800-1830 and to McMinn Co. by 1840 where he died.
