Hi Judy. Are you the Judy White from Alaska? If so, we know each other. I was just on the DAR Members only web site looking at the Patriot Index for Wallings who are rev war patriots. I found 6 from NJ. The only NJ James Walling on the list was born in NJ in 1727, but served in MD as a Capt. He died in MD before 25 Nov. 1811. These dates and facts differ from those you list in your inquiry, so I'm not sure if they are the same person. He also had two wives: mary Malott and Mary Stull. At any rate, I don't know how I'd begin to tie into a rev war Walling, as the earliest Wallings I have any record of are Izah (Isiah?) and Abah (Abigail?) in Monmouth County, info from the 1850 & 1860 census. Their daughter Alice married my ggrandfather John Edward Barnes.
