James wife was Eglentine "Tinie" McClary. James came with his sister Sarah A Wallen (Wallin in TX) around 1890. Sarah was married to John Henry Scarbrough. In McMinn CO., there are two John Henry Scarbrough (cousins) born about a year apart.

James father was John Wallen Jr. His mother was Emily Dillon.

In the 1850 Census - McMinn County, TN,
it was spelled WALLEN.
John Wallen is listed as age 25 -
Occupation - Farmer - Born in VA
Emily Wallen Age 22 SC
Sarah 6 TN
James 4 TN

Not proven - Emily might be the wife of the other John Henry.

I visited James's grave last Sunday. If you would like pictures, let me know. I also have pictures of James's parents John and Emily on my Web site, under "Photo Galley" listed as RobertScarbrough (who lived with them when his parents went to TX with the Wallins.
