My maiden name was Waline, but my grandfather's name in Sweden was Wallin. He was the first in his family to use that name. Did you know Wallin was the name of a military unit? when patronymic names went out of fashion and they had to choose a surname to keep, many took their military names. Therefore, most of us with the name are not related. My grandfather had only sisters so i know I am not related to any other Wallins. But it is fun to find them anyway.
