I'm quite interested in Wallens in the Springfield OH area, also; however I'm pretty sure the one I've been tracking did not originate in KY. I'm following a Daniel Walling/Wallen (b 1757 in CT) who has quite an interesting story. He was a Revolutionary War soldier, was captured and some of those with him were scalped; after some time in prison in Canada, he escaped. When he applied for his pension in 1832, he was living in Clark County OH., However, I've been unable to find him in the 1830 census. I have found him in the following censuses:
1790 - Litchfield Co CT
1800 - Luzerne Co PA
1810 - Steuben Co NY
1820 - Franklin Co IN
I believe (but cannot prove) that he had a son Daniel and that the son was the Daniel Wallen found in Bath Twp of Greene Co OH in the 1820 & 1830 censuses and then in Clark Co IL in the 1840 & 1850 censuses.
