Do you have "Elizah Wallen: The Longhunter" by Carolyn Wallin (think I have her first name correct). My copy is back at my other home but will be happy to do look ups for you when I get back in about 2 months. You can still buy copies of this book and it will give you lots and lots of information!!! The "H" in William H. Wallin may stand for Hamlin/Hamblin, the maiden name of Frances Hamlin Wallen, James' mother thus grandmother of William H. (If I have read you correctly.

Thank you for the information about Mary Wallen b. 4-19-1860. Must say that it is comforting to have another Wallen dealing with a "brick wall" out there!!Will try and get back to you in a few months when I get back to my book. Joyce
