James Franklin Wallin and wife Elizabeth were also parents of twin girls, Almerine (Mary A.) & Malita (Matilda) and sons William H., Gustavus A. Lucien T. and a daughter Tennie F. This is taken from the 1880 census, Missouri, Laclede Co.,Union Twp. William H. Wallen/Wallin (Sr.)was said to be my great-grandfather. My grandfather, William Hogan lived with James & Elizabeth until their deaths. He had said he never laid eyes on his father. It's just speculation but we believe it's more likely that one of the twins was William's mother and she named her illigimate son for her brother. William Jr.was living in the household of a Alma Sprague, Mrs. Carmi Sprague) Buffalo, Mo., around 1910. We believe that this Alma, Mary A. and Almerine are all one in the same person. Apparently Samuel I. Wallin/Wallen was the oldest child and left home prior to the above census but is shown in an earlier census. I have two handwritten items mailed from Camas, Washington to my grandfather, William Hogan Wallin, Aurora, Mo. One was a wedding announcement (1915)of R. Harris Wallin (son of Samuel) marrying Mamie Bollinger and the other being a postcard from Samuel's daughter, Dora (Mrs. G.G. Cone)addressing Wm. as "cousin". If anyone can help me sort this out I would be truly appreciative. I would love to hear from any other descendants of James Franklin and Elizabeth Wallin.
