Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
Thank you so much for your response. I have very little information on the Wallens and most of what I do have, I received only a few days ago from a distant Adair relative who had some additonal notes from my grandfather. My GGrandmother was Frances Wallen, b. in Crab Orchard in 1843. According the notes of A.J. Adair, my grandfather and her son-in-law, Frances' parents were James Wallen, son of John Wallen and Mary Renfro, and Frances Hamlin, daughter of Charles Hamlin and Polly (?). Could the James you mentioned have married more than once? Frances Wallem married Jesse Russell Youree in 1860 and moved to Jackson County Missouri. Her daughter, Oda Youree, married A.J. Adair, noted Newspaper editor and Missouri historian.
