I had not been able to find the place or date when G.W. enlisted when I was researching this a few years ago, so this info was new for me. I thought that the other Wallens were probably brothers and/or cousins. G.W. did have a brother John & William though I do not know if they were in the War. On researching the 11th Inf. Co. B I had found info that it was originally designated the 8th Inf. but was reorganized after the Battle of Helena, Arkansas on July 4, 1863 to the 11th. If this info is correct it brings up more questions as to the CSA list of Wallens’ being in the 11th before that date. I was not able to find G.W. in the Roster for the 8th though it did say the list may not be complete.
