Joann, you may be thinking of an article from The American Genealogist Vol. 67 #1 pgs 47-53 by Eleanor Rue who wrote about the possibility of widow Joyce Wallin marrying Thomas Lombard/Lumbert who lived in Barnstable. A Thomas Wallen was apprehended 1650 in Barnstable...perhaps a teenager or young man...with Richard Carle, George Way and 2 young women who were running away from their husbands. There is speculation that this Thomas is the one who md. Mary Abbot in Providence, RI being in Roger Williams colony and that there could be a connection between this Thomas, and Ralph and Joyce. However, none of this is even remotely proven. The Rue article makes for most interesting thought. I don't know that there is a proven surname for Joyce. Is there documentation that you know of? There is also the possibility that the ship "Anne" continued its voyage to Virginia after stopping in MA. I would like to see documentation on this interesting possibility. bettylee
