If your George W. Wallen was from Missouri, I suspect he was the grandson of Elisha Wallen known as the Long hunter (about 1734-1811), the son of Elisha (1795-1872). Elisha (1795-1872) married Mary Hughes (1799-1866). Elish and Mary had 18 children, nine boys and nine girls. Their son George was born in 1839. I don't know if he left the Wallen Plantation in Irondale, Missouri. The Wallen Cemetery records that I have do not show him being burried in the family cemetery on the plantation.
