Leola:

Your message really interested me as you referred to the Dearborn Co. Elijah Walden who had properties near (where?)?.

You also said Theophilus Walden was his son or brother and I wondered where you found that. That rang a bell with me, because there was an Elijah Walden who m. Mary Phillips, a dau. of Theophilus Phillips.

I'm tracing an Eldridge Walden/Waldron who was living near Elijah in Dearborn Co. IN in 1830. I think Elijah may be his father. I have a bunch of Dearborn Co. IN deeds of Elijah's, too. It names his wife as Martha (not MARY, darn); and this may be the Elijah who m. Martha NOWLIN 1800 in garrard Co. KY.

To your interest, there was a series of three deeds around 1825 in Dearborn co. IN in which Elijah was buying neighboring land, from "heirs of the estate of William WALDEN." These heirs were James Walden, Sarah Walden and Diademia (formerly Walden) & John Smith. I don't know if Elijah was a brother to this William or another son, buying out siblings? Anyway, thought you all would find that helpful. Would love to hear from any of you.
