Gail...I just got the 2nd vol., too, and would like the 1st! I am most interested in
your line. Do you think your Elisha was a
survivor of the Indian attack? It really makes sense. My line is the LH thru his
son John Vardeman Wallin to Elisha V. Wallin
to James Henry Wallin to Elisha Curtis Wallin
to my dad, James Thomas Wallin! I even have
a nephew 8 yrs old...Wm. Elisha Hunter Wallin. Wallins to the end! But I am ever so
interested in your Elisha. I have heard that
John's first wife could have been Mary Roberts, and I would like to know if that is
so, and also, if she and the children were
killed, or if she was at the spring.or what!
I did look up Ellis Harlin who had just retrnd to the Fort and given Joseph Martin the message of her death. He was a full-blooded Cherokee. Martin says he has a letter in his hand from him...don't understand that part. I am also interested in the Blevins wives. I think Mary Blevins was from MD. Not sure about Catherine Elizabeth. I saw where Wm. and Jas Blevins
both had Indian wives. Wm. suppossedly md.
2 Indian princesses who were sisters. I don't know which Wm.., but probably the one that signed the Wautauga Compact. Wondered if we had some Cherokee in there. My John, son of the LH, md. Jeruusha Rentfro. Hope to
hear from you. bbettylee
