B. A. Gipson was Bartholomew Gipson, son of William Gipson of NC.He is listed on one census as Bart. His civil war record (Confederate MO private) lists him as Bartly. Bartholomew was close to his brother, Samuel Posey Gipson (b. 1830 McMinn), and (I think) this is their cousin, Wiley Gipson (b1832McMinn) who was in MO infantry with both of them. Wiley's father was John Gipson, who I THINK was William's brother. John went from Pulaski County, Ky to McMinn often enough to father a child (Wiley) with Judy Cash (b1810-11 Pulaski, Ky). There was some connection with Pulaski County Kentucky and McMinn County Tennessee. The Cash and Gipson families went back and forth. I am trying to find a recorded marriage for this John Gipson (possibly born abt 1810) since he never narried Judy Cash. Found copy of marriage license for Rebecca and Bartly on Ancestry where Rebecca was listed as Wallin.
