I am living in NW Ohio, Son of Dan L. Wallen, grandchild of Robert and Dee Wallen. My great grandmother told me a story about our name: It was Vallen and changed to Wallen during WWI (I believe)...I have always heard the original name though was Vallenstein (or Wallenstein) and had been shortened when the family came to the United States. Maybe we are of the same origin. I don't have much info about my family, but I know that whoever my great grandfather was, he left my great grandmother and had started another family south of us here in Ohio (I met someone from that branch of the family a little over a year ago). Anyone that has any info on this Wallen family, please post as I'd like to know more about who my ancestors are!
