Hi Gail,
I realize it's been awhile since you posted about the Wallens in Oregon. I'm looking for information about my 3rd great grandfather,John Wallan, b. 9 Aug 1833 in Missouri and died 18 Jun 1903. He ended up in Oregon, and married Eliza Jane Shadden, my 3rd great grandmother, in 1858. He listed his occupation then as a Methodist Minister, and later as a blacksmith. His parents were David Wallan b. 1809 in Tennessee and Nancy Cravens, who I have no information about. He had a brother, William, who also located in Oregon. I would like to know how John came out to Oregon (Oregon Trail??) and what became of him. Eliza died in 1883 and I think he may have remarried. I'm finding his name spelled in a variety of ways (Walling, Wallon, etc. in addition to Wallan). I'd love to correspond with other family members, and wonder if photos exist of this family anywhere.
Thanks,
Arlynn
