What a suprise to see your message! We must be distantly related ....
My grandmother's maiden name was Wallaker and she was born and brought up in Canewdon, Essex. Soon after she left school she moved away to work in London where she eventually met and married my Grandfather. Strangely, one of her sister had already married my Grandfather's brother. Only one of their brothers married and his name was David. I believe he was a sign writer. He certainly married locally.
The Canewdon Wallakers were a large family. The parents (born in 1848 and 1849 respectively) Edward Wallaker and his wife Angelina, were devoted. Edward was a farm bailiff at a nearby estate and lived to a grand age of 87 years. Angelina was called 'the Angel' in the village because accordingly to my Mother she was known to be a rather wise person. (Sounds a bit like my Mother!)
I am sure you are related through your great grandparents to this family. I just hope this message has given you some sort of lead. With best wishes, Tricia Burdekin
