Hello Kate,
Good to hear from you.My research into the American side of my family has somewhat slowed and this is another wakeup call!
My great grandmother was Nancy Hartzel, older sister of your Alice.Jonas Hartzel and Alice Wallahan Hartzel had (by my records)nine children: Samuel c. 1826 (m. Miss Bell), Hester- 1828 (m. William Harrah), Nancy - 1832 (m. John DeLany), Sarah c. 1833 (m. Enoch Gadd), Mary Ann - 1834 (m John Crouch), Charles c 1836 (no data), Dorothy - 1839 (m. John Van Patten), Ella - c 1840 (m. ? Fairleigh) and Alice c. 1842 (m. ? Fisher).
I have another generation for some which I can send to you if you are interested.I have been in touch with a descendant of Mary Ann (Crouch).I show Alice as marrying someone named Fisher but the name Hartzel Fisher is a surprise.Do you know where the link between the families occurs?Somewhere in Ohio or perhaps back as far as Pennsylvania!?!It would be interesting to know.Fortunately, I have printouts of data on both the Hartzel and Wallahan families received by email, but the computer record was lost with the theft of my computer and I have not had time to enter all the data in my family Tree programme. In due course I should be able to provide more details.
What is your link with the family? I am answering on Forum now but you could contact me directly if you wish at [email protected]
