Hi Jane,
I don't have much info at all. My Dad passed away in 1987, and spoke very little about his family. I know most of my relatives who were direct decendents lived in the Kentucky area. I have not seen or heard from them since I was a child. My Dad's father's name was Cyril Popko. He married Dorothy Wallace (my grandmother) who's parents were Anna Banard and William Wallace. I know I have relatives in Canada as well, but I know my Grandfather imigrated from Poland. My guess is that my Grandmother's family are from Canada, and proably from Scotland before that. I have not had a chance to sit down with my Mom to get any info from her since I began this search. I live in Mass. and she lives in NY, so I don't get to see her often, but I will be seeing her sometime in the next month or so, so hopefully I can get some names go on. I do know that the original copy of General Lew's book Ben Hur was passed down through my family until about 25 yeras ago or so when it was donated to a museum, although I don't know which one. I have never seen it myself, only heard about growing up. My Mom's family is from Ireland and has a rich history as well, which I would like to someday pass on to my children. I will get back to you with any info I get as soon as I can. Thank You for your help as well.
Tamara
