Thank you for responding.
"Lizzie" Elizabeth Wall (abt 1833-after 1880)was married to Wiley Crawford, killed at Antietam, September 14, 1862. They had four children.
Elizabeth was the third of four daughters of Param and "Katie" Katherine Wall. Her siblings were Miranda (also cited as Mirinda), Caroline, and Mary. "Katie" and "Lizzie" were living with William A. Crawford in 1880, William being the son of "Lizzie" and Wiley. They were enumerated in 1880 as his mother and grandmother.
Param was the son of John Wall who died in Edgefield Countybefore September 1820. Other estate records show that Amy Hall (yes, a Hall married a WALL) was his mother. Amy died in 1847 in Edgefield County. My records show that Param had seven siblings: James B., Martha, Lucy, Prudence, David, Sarah and Elizabeth. (David also died in Edgefield County.)
Param and his family "DISAPPEARED" after the 1860 census and nothing has been found about him and "Katie" before she appeared again in the 1880 census. ARGH !! (One lady at the OEGS thought he might have been part of the contingent that went to Brazil after 1865.)
After John Wall died, Param moved to Abbeville County for a short time and lived adjacent to some Brown families. But 1840, he was back in Edgefield and the Browns had also moved. So far, I have been unable to PROVE that "Katie's" maiden name was Brown.
I wish to add to the public discussions and won't write anything that isn't subject to either correction or additonal discussion by anyone interested in that particular family history. Otherwise, we might lose these forums to "money making concerns" and that would be a shame !!
