Wm & Mary Wall of Kilkenny + surnames Breen and Finneran
In 1850 James Wall the son of William and Mary of Kilkenny arrived in Boston, most likely through Newburyport. The ships records for that port during that time did not survive. I have reason to believe that William and Mary and others of their children may have come over with him. James was 14 at the time. James married Maria Breen in 1857 at Immaculate Conception Church in Newburyport (or at least at the Church at 42 Green Street) Maria was 19 and was the daughter of Nancy and Daniel Breen. I am now attempting to learn town land and place name information for the Wall's. It's a struggle because William and Mary is a pretty common combination in the Wall family. I do not know how many of their children came over. I do not know for sure that they came over. I am still working on the "elimination game" through census records. I believe they arrived after the 1850 census was completed probably in July of that year because they do not show up. Any help or clues would be greatly appreciated. If it helps James and Maria named their children: Benjamin J., Robert E., Francis H., Frederick L. and Laura. I have reason to believe that either Mary or Nancy had the maiden name of Finneran. I do not yet know which county the Breen's came from.
