1) Harriet Walkup was born about 1805 since she is age 45 in the 1850 census.
2) She married James Boggs in Greenbrier County Jan 28, 1824. He was born 22 May 1800, Greenbrier County.
3) James and Harriet Walkup Boggs had a daughter, Mary Jane Boggs born 1828 in VA, probably Greenbrier County.
4) James and Harriet Walkup Boggs left Greenbrier County sometime around 1830 along with James’ father and other family members.
5) Mary Jane Boggs was in Nicholas County March 11, 1845 when she married Willis Walker.
6) Signing the marriage bond is the groom Willis Walker and a Robert Campbell – bond signers were usually relatives.
7) By 1850 Harriet and Mary Jane and Willis are in the Wirt County VA census with information that Willis had come from Nicholas County.
8) In the 1850 census of Nicholas County is a Robert Campbell, age 38 and in his household is a Nathaniel Walkup, age 63 – born about 1787
Some have suggested Nathaniel is Harriet's father, and the fact that Robert Campbell acted as bondsman suggests a relationship to Harriet's daughter, and the fact that Nathaniel Walkup was living in Robert's household also suggests a relationship.
Does anyone have more information about Harriet or Nathaniel?
